Academic Open Source Program Offices (OSPOs) are a growing phenomenon and they are demonstrating how collaboration and knowledge sharing provide an outsized benefit to science and society. The GW OSPO joined OSPOs from John Hopkins and the University of California Network. Our OSPOs were all started with funds from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation and we connect through the CURIOSS network.
We spoke at the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI) conference in December which is a place for librarians and IT support to come together. Please check out our panel presentation about the power of networking with examples of three types of OSPO networks (Institutional, Regional, Global). Email the GW OSPO at [email protected] if you are interested in learning more or to join and grow our community.
